The Tsitsikamma Coastal Golf Estate enjoys a glorious setting with panoramic views of the ocean and the National Park to the south, the deep Storms River gorge to the east, tranquil farmland to the west and the magnificent Tsitsikamma Mountain range as backdrop to the north. In the master planning of this prestigious golf estate the primary goal has been to create an apparently seamless link with the adjacent nature reserve, complementing the natural beauty of the area. Fingers of rich indigenous bush will flow up the steep valleys and gullies and right into the very core of the Estate; a veritable Garden of Eden with the sound of running water at every turn. Thus, situated on arguably the most beautiful and secluded piece of land to be found along the entire Garden Route, a new community comprising 505 residential erven, on average 1200sq. m in extent, 75 luxury apartments and 50 garden suites will emerge, with a superb 18-hole championship golf course threading its way through the quiet residential villages.
The Tsitsikamma Coastal Golf Estate is situated in the forest adjacent to the pristine Tsitsikamma National Park on South Africa’s famous Garden Route. This unique National Park stretches for 80 km along the scenic southern Cape coast and 5,5 km out to sea and was the first Marine National Park to be proclaimed on the African Continent.
The site borders to the north of the Park and is located directly above the Storms River mouth, enjoying panoramic views of the Indian Ocean, the Storms River gorge and the Tsitsikamma Mountain range, which probably makes it one of the most environmentally sensitive pieces of land in the country. Access to the Estate is in close proximity to the N2 National Road between Plettenberg Bay and Port Elizabeth.
The Tsitsikamma Region enjoys mild ambient temperatures with an annual rainfall of 1000 mm spread evenly throughout the year. The site is forever green.
The Estate Centre, fondly referred to as "The Triangle", is located at the highest point on the site and is linked to the entry gatehouse by means of a tree-lined avenue. On arrival, residents and visitors will experience a wide boulevard with indigenous forest on either side. As the forest thins, sweeping vistas across the golf course and fresh water lakes open out towards the ocean and the blue-grey Tsitsikamma Mountains.
Various facilities are located at "The Triangle". These include the Golf Clubhouse, a luxury Health Spa and Fitness Centre, 50 garden suites, a Sports Centre with tennis courts, squash courts, bowling greens and a swimming pool. There will also be a convenience shop in the Business Centre which comprises inter alia 25 luxurious office suites equipped with state of the art technology to those who require precious contact with the outside world. The two storey apartment buildings overlook the 1st, 8th, 9th, 10th and 18th golf holes. Perched up on the highest portion of the Estate, the views from these up market apartments will be quite spectacular.
The residential stands are grouped into several discrete villages, their boundaries created by the golf course fairways and the natural fall of the site, the valleys and headlands, the gorges and ridges of the environment. A network of walking, jogging and cycle paths meanders through the site, around the outer perimeter, sometimes under the canopy of dense forest, along the water-worn ravines and next to the manicured fairways. Several dedicated golf cart paths will enable residents to quickly reach "The Triangle" from any part of the site.
The 18-hole championship golf course was designed and will be constructed and maintained by Golf Data, the official Jack Nicklaus representatives in southern Africa. Construction of the first 9 holes, situated in Phase One of the development, is scheduled to commence simultaneously with that of the services in Phase One while the full course and clubhouse will be completed in good time to have the official opening during Q3 of 2008.
