Description:  
  • Our Bar/House Boat was conceptualised in 2001/2 finished in 2004/5 and has been used for various functions from 2005/6.  It will “comfortably” accommodate “Twenty+” passengers for various functions.  It is a great 2010 business opportunity.
  • The vessel measures approximately 12 meters in length, 5 meters width and approximately 5 meters high (includes Cockpit).  The bottom deck (downstairs) measures aproximately “60” Square metres and the Top Deck (upstairs / *The Observation Deck), measures approximately “40” Square metres.

  • A Full size “Spiral Staircase” connects the downstairs to the observation deck.

  • The hull is made of ‘Eight’ Steel floats (Hot Rolled) pressurised float / compartments each measuring 2.5 metres in length x 1.5 metres in width x 1.0 metre deep.  Each compartment comprises 2x coats primer and 4x coats epoxy sealant and 2x black paint.

  • All floats where sand blasted, pressure tested, waterproofed and epoxy treated.

  • The draft of the vessel is approximately 450mm with no passengers and approximately 550mm with passengers aboard.

  • The skeletal superstructure is made of 100mm x 100mm square tubing, 100mm Lip Channels and 50mm x 50mm Square tubing. All Tubing and Welding is treated and painted.

  • There are two 700-litre stainless steel water tanks, for the flush toilet, sinks and shower run-off situated underneath the vessel.

  • The flush Toilet run-off tank has a built-in submersible 240V ac pump for shore drainage. Environmental chemicals are used throughout. 

  • There is a 500-litre water tank supplying fresh water for the flush toilet, shower and sinks.

  • A Gas Geyser supplies the Shower and hot water throughout.

  • Two gas burners adorn the kitchenette/sink area behind the bar.

  • On board gas is supplied by one 9-litre gas cylinder.

  • Reed blinds adorn the bathroom and Bar area.

  • The bathroom area has been “soundproofed”!

  • The all-WOOD interior is made up of Marine Ply floorboards, House Ceiling boards and SALIGNA Tongue-in-Groove Panelling. 

  • The Hand Crafted Bar and 6 bar stools are made of White Oak.

  • All windows are Winster made, treated Swartland Hardwood with open/close latches.

  • All exterior wood is treated, epoxy sealed and varnished.

  • All interior wood is treated, epoxy sealed and varnished. 

  • All interior wood has an annual inspection and maintenance procedure.

  • All exterior wood has a bi-annual inspection and maintenance procedure.

  • All exterior metal surfaces have a bi-annual inspection and maintenance procedure.

  • Special Galvanised Colour-coded Brass Capping strips adorn the marine ply floor.

  • The vessel is powered by Two 60 HP “Big-Foot” Mercury engines situated at the stern of the vessel.

  • Both Mercury Engines have done 105 hours from new!

  • Each engine has a separate Ac Delco (Voyager) 12V DC deep cycle supply battery.

  • The Two Mercury engine rpm/Hour counters are housed in panel, in the cockpit above the steering wheel.

  • The engine batteries are housed in the in-door Bic. each side of to the Distribution board behind the Bar.

  • Two 25 Litre petrol tanks are “housed” astern (outside) next to their appropriate engines.

  • The vessel has a 18cm (HD) High Definition Humminbird 987 CX SI Combo navigation system with Sonar GPS chart plotting, Side Imaging Sonar, precision 12 Channel GPS with WAAS, built-in detailed 4nm UniMap which is upgradeable and expandable. The 987 CX SI also includes 262/455/200/50 KHz. transducer with Temperature and GPS speed.  The Humminbird Nav. System is mounted/displayed in the cockpit above the steering wheel, in panel.

  • The vessel has a 0.65 metre diameter, six spindle wooden steering wheel in the cockpit. The steering is Hydraulic.

  • Two Zartek Dual Watch 190 Channel two-way Radio’s are included.

  • Three fire extinguishers are included.

  • A 1.8 KW (Mobil Power) AC/DC adaptor/converter plus separate battery, supplies the on board Fridge/Freezer.

  • All floor lighting and wall lighting is 12V DC.

  • All upstairs Floor, Stern, Bow and Navigational lighting is controlled from the upstairs cockpit control panel.

  • Downstairs Floor, Wall and Outside lighting is controlled from the Bic. Distribution Box behind the Bar.  All downstairs wall lighting including the bathroom, have separate wall switches as does the outside entrance lantern.

  • The upstairs Observation Deck has wall-to-wall Sisal Carpeting over a 7mm sealed aluminium plate/flooring. 

  • Upstairs, a Saligna Tongue-in-Groove “Function” table covers the 500-litre fresh water tank.

  • Seven hand made Lead Crystal door windows adorn the downstairs area.

  • Four extra large built in cupboards are situated at the bow.  The Bar and Kitchenette have similar Bic. storage spaces.

  • The vessels’ 2.5 m Gang Plank is also included.

  • Twenty Life Jackets and a Life Belt are also included.

  • Included is a Tarpaulin Cover that covers the total area of the upstairs

  • Observation Deck.

  • All Electrical, Plumbing (including Gas), Welding and Woodwork was carried out by Qualified Engineers, Technicians and Craftsmen.

  • All Electrical, Plumbing, Welding and Woodwork was meticulously supervised, scrutinised and tested throughout the construction/building of the vessel.

  • The value of the House Boat was assessed and arrived at by the original planner, designers and owners. (2009). Please note that it has been calculated that it would cost ~R1.3M to rebuild.
